About the Job:

You will serve to assist various departments in clerical functions, and provide clerical support to the staff of the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this roles are as follows:

  • Provide clerical and secretarial support to the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.
  • Compose, type, select proper civilian or military format, proofread and/or edit correspondence, reports and various other documents.
  • Responds in a helpful and tactful manner to telephone inquiries and visitors to the office, determining the nature of business and relating quasi-technical information or routing to the appropriate source.
  • Compile information for research on special reports and projects.
  • Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders and address complaints.
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer.
  • Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities.
  • Inventory, order, stock and track High usage office supplies for re-order and accountability.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • One (1) year clerical or related experience or accredited college training in a related field.
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
  • Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver s License.
  • Working knowledge of standard office procedures and the ability to use office equipment.
  • Ability to use computer and proficiency in the use of Windows software:
    Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Working knowledge and ability with word processing, filing, customer service, compiling records & reports and opening and routing mail.
  • Basic understanding of military terminology, procedures, methods, policies and regulations as they relate to the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center.
  • Ability to type with speed and accuracy and select proper format for various documents such as military orders, publications, forms, reports, military and civilian correspondence.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, vendors and other governmental employees.
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate and informative reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
